The University of Virginia’s Executive Master’s Degree Program in Systems Engineering Names Gerard P. Learmonth Sr. as Interim Executive Director

Gerard P. Learmonth, Chief Executive of Broadband Network Services Incorporated, has been named Interim
Executive Director of the UVa Executive Master's Program in Systems Engineering. The Executive Program
is offered in weekend format to working professionals seeking a Master's Degree in Systems Engineering.
The Program is delivered in Northern Virginia on alternating weekends during the academic year.
From 1992 until 1994, Learmonth served as Academic Director of George Washington University's Executive Master's
Program in Information Systems. From 1980 until 1988 he served as Vice Chairman of the Master's Program in
Computer and Information Systems at Dartmouth College. A firm believer in the need to provide a quality educational
experience in a format convenient for working professionals, the UVa Program is a timely offering.
While overseeing the operational aspects of Program delivery, Learmonth will teach one graduate course in the Fall
semester: Information Technology Architecture. This type of teaching opportunity brings the real-world experience
gained at BNSI into the classroom.
