Colin M. Learmonth, President and COO of BNSI, Appointed to Technical Advisory Committee Five of the Virginia Legislature’s Joint Commission on Technology and Science

Colin M. Learmonth, President of Broadband Network Services Incorporated, has been appointed to the Technical Advisory Committee Five of the Joint Commission on Technology and Science chaired by Senator Edward L. Schrock and Delegate Joe T. May.

Technical Advisory Committee Five is a subcommittee charged with examining the Uniform Computer Information Transactions Act's (UCITA) impact on Virginia businesses, consumers, and libraries.

To carry out its charge, the Committee will met five times from June 2000 through November 2000, throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia. At these open meetings, members of the public may propose amendments to the UCITA bill. The Committee then will vote on any proposed amendments to determine whether they should receive further consideration. Final amendments will be recommended to JCOTS (Joint Commission on Technology and Science).
