December 18, 2001 - Charlottesville, Va
Contact: Colin M. Learmonth
Broadband Network Services Incorporated (BNSI) today announced a new suite
of DSL service offerings targeted at the small- to medium-sized enterprise
(SME) market. These new DSL product offerings combine a set of essential
services that meet the demands of enterprises for Internet and World Wide
Web access as well as provide the opportunity to create an effective Internet
presence.
BNSI offers its new products using Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line
(ADSL) technology. Using this technology, enterprises within approximately
three miles of any telephone company central office facility may be serviced
by BNSI.
Depending on actual distance and existing line quality, BNSI offers customers
three different access speed combinations: 512Kbps/128Kbps; 1,500Kbps/384Kbps;
and 640Kbps/640Kbps. The first number of each pair represents the effective
bandwidth from BNSI to the customer's premises. The second number represents
the effective bandwidth from the customer premises to BNSI.
BNSI combines its always-on DSL access technology with additional services
to create a single point of service for all the enterprise's Internet
needs. The services included in each DSL service offering are:
- A
static IP address
- Domain
Name Service (DNS) for up to five customer domain names
- 10
Managed e-mail accounts (POP3/Webmail)
- and
corporate Web site hosting with 15MB storage and 500MB monthly traffic.
Additional
domain names, mailboxes, and Web site services are available on request.
With these new service offerings, BNSI continues to be the preferred Internet
Service Provider for the greater Charlottesville area. In business since
June 1, 1995 BNSI continues it's tradition of knowledgeable, professional,
and superior service to its customers.
